No More Manual Rewinding of Labels

Fully-automatic winding with Primera’s RW-7 Label Rewinder, RW-9 Right Winder and LW-9 Left Winder

WIESBADEN, GERMANY (June 30, 2016) – For many label applications it is simply unavoidable: The labels can only be processed properly, if they are on a core – in the best possible quality and with required firmness.

All manufacturers, who are printing their labels in-house and not outsourcing them to a printing house, save a lot of time when using Primera’s new RW-7 Label Rewinder as it automatically rewinds large quantities of labels.

The RW-7 is perfect for use with virtually any thermal, thermal transfer and inkjet-based desktop label printer, including Primera’s popular LX-series colour label printers.

The RW-7 is the successor to Primera’s LX-Rewinder and comes with new features. Now customers can choose between two winding directions: “label inside“ and “label outside“. Depending on the chosen direction the LED indicator on the dancer arm changes its colour.

Additionally, the RW-7 now supports three roll core diameters: 25.4 mm (1”), 50.8 mm (2“) and 76.2 mm (3″), offering the flexibility to produce label rolls that fit the requirements of the finishing machine used afterwards. The maximum rewind capacity is 152.4 mm (6”) by a maximum roll width of 177.8 mm (7”).

New additions to Primera’s winder series

The RW-9 Right Winder and the LW-9 Left Winder are Primera’s newest, heavy-duty winders for use in industrial-grade environments supporting larger roll diameters and widths.

Made in Germany these label un- and rewinders feature a two-millimetres steel casing, along with a heavy-duty torque linear driven engine as well as an enhanced full metal mandrel. It can hold rolls with a weight of up to 30 kilogrammes, a width of 228 mm (9”), a 76 mm (3”) core and a maximum outer diameter of 330 mm (13”). With a maximum speed of up to 300 mm (12”) per second both the RW-9 Right Winder and the LW-9 Left Winder can be used with any digital label printer in the market. The included multi adapter platform allows an easy alignment between winder and printer within seconds.
