Primera Europe Annouces New LX-Rewinder and LX-Unwinder

New accessories for the LX400e wind and unwind label rolls fully automatically

Wiesbaden, GERMANY (July 27, 2007) - Primera Technology Europe™ completes the label production and introduces the new LX-Rewinder and Unwinder. Both products are compatible with the LX400, the world's smallest color label printer.

While the Rewinder automatically winds printed labels, the Unwinder enables the use of label rolls with a larger or smaller core diameter than the normal used 2″ (5.08 cm) cores for the LX400. Therefore, the user can choose from an even larger range of label, tag and ticket material.

The LX-Rewinder optimizes the manual roll-up process. Until now, unique labels end up in an unsorted stack on the floor and had to be winded up laboriously by hand. Both steps are obsolete now by using the LX-Rewinder, said Andreas Hoffmann, Managing Director of Primera Europe. The saved time can now be used for other tasks - like creating new label designs.

Key applications include short-runs or even single copies of individual and personalized labels for wine and water bottles, preserves, cosmetics, specialty and gourmet foods, gift baskets and much more. By using the Rewinder and/or Unwinder the label production is simplified and the amount of printed labels can be increased.

The installation is very easy: Just by attaching the LX400e on the locks of the metal top of the Re- and Unwinder slipping and loosening during the printing process is prevented. An additional software installation is not needed.

Both devices are available at just € 399 (£ 268) MSRP. Together with the LX400e (€ 1,249/ £ 824 MSRP) the user gets a professional color label printer with a print resolution up to 4800 dpi and an all-in-one wind and unwind system for nearly € 2,000. Inkjet printers by other manufactures aren’t available below € 6,000. Color thermal transfer printers with just a print resolution of 300 to 600 dpi are available at approx. € 10,000.
