DTM Hybrid Material can be used with both printing technologies, inkjet and dry toner.
Inkjet technology has been in widespread use for many years in home, office and even professional photo and poster-printing applications. With today’s state-of-the-art inkjet technology, it is robust and water-resistant enough to produce primary product labels.
Colour laser technology is often used in desktop applications on cut sheets of paper. With an improvement and adjustment of existing laser printers to continuous-feed label printers a big variety of substrates and usage of label rolls are possible.
The printing process is similar to usual desktop laser printers, fusing dry toner to the label material through a heat unit (fuser). LED technology delivers high resolution with more accurate, striking printed labels.
Colour inkjet is typically better suited to short runs versus medium runs since ink capacities are lower and speeds are slower. For higher volumes dry toner is used more often due to its high printing speeds.
With all colour label printers DTM Print is offering, you can produce full-colour product labels at up to 4800 dpi – about 240 times higher resolution than flexo – in up to 16.7 million colours.
