FESPA: Introducing FX1200e Digital Finishing System

Digital label finishing has never been this fast and easy

WIESBADEN, GERMANY— Primera Technology Europe, EMEA headquarter of Primera Technology, Inc., is presenting its new FX1200e Digital Finishing System at the FESPA show. FESPA is the world’s most important event for digital, screen and textile printing and the event is being held from June 22-26, 2010 at the Messe Munich Trade Fair Centre in Germany. Primera, a leading manufacturer of specialty printers and production systems, is represented by its German distributor SYSTEAM with a fully Primera dedicated booth in hall A1, stand # 336.

“FESPA will be a double premiere show for us: Not only will it be the first time ever that Primera products are exposed at FESPA, it will also be the first show taking place in Germany during which we introduce the FX1200e to the audience,” explains Andreas Hoffmann, managing director of Primera Technology Europe, the decision to participate at the show.
Over a year ago, Primera entered the digital label printer market by introducing its CX1200e Color Label Press. CX1200e is the perfect solution for service bureaus and a broad range of manufacturers who need to print from just a few labels to tens of thousands of labels at a time. Digital label printing has many advantages versus other printing technologies, including the elimination of plates, set-up, make-ready and clean-up. The built-in electronic tensioning control system, a first for a digital press in this category, delivers perfectly-wound output rolls that are ready for off-line finishing.

Digital Label Finishing Made Easy

In combination with the new FX1200e Digital Finishing Solution Primera is introducing a complete digital label production solution. The new digital finishing system is ideal for use with the CX1200e, but also suitable for use with other narrow web output engines.
The FX1200e offers, in one single process, the ability to laminate, die cut, slit, rewind and remove the waste matrix. Finishing speeds of up to 9.14 metres per minute are accomplished with Primera’s patent-pending exclusive QuadraCut™ technology. QuadraCut uses up to four knife blades at a time across the web. This feature dramatically increases throughput compared to systems that have just a single blade.

One of the major benefits of this finishing system is innovation in the die-cutting process. Instead of hard tooled or flexible steel dies, the FX1200e uses digitally controlled tungsten carbide steel knife blades. This means that users never have to buy a die or wait for it to be made and delivered. Turnarounds will be faster and there is a significant saving in time and cost.
The cutter can be used to create almost any shape or size from various pressure-sensitive substrates, including matte and gloss paper, polyester, vinyl, polypropylene, BOPP and many more.
