Extraordinary, Creative & Simply Awesome
The elementary school in Sprendlingen (Germany) had a great idea, which DTM Print was happy to support.
At the School’s own Christmas market, students of class 4a will sell their handmade “Ludo” games. They used bottle caps as game tokens and applied different labels on them. These labels were produced with Primera’s CX/FX1200e Digital Label Press and Finishing Combo. The elementary school will donate the profit to “Schule in Uganda e.V.”, a non-profit organisation that supports educational projects for children in Uganda.
Schule für Uganda e.V. - on-site projects and the use of donations
Muwafu is a small village in the middle of Uganda, about 250km east of the capital Kampala. The nearest major city is Tororo, about 40km away. The families in the area are very rich in children. Unfortunately, there are hardly any employment opportunities and most of them only live from their own cultivation. However, since the fields are very small and the crops are often destroyed by extreme weather conditions, there is unfortunately very much poverty.

There are also many children who have lost their parents to diseases such as AIDS, malaria and TB. Although these orphans are admitted by distant relatives, these families can not provide enough for their own children, not to mention the strangers.
As a result, many children do not go to school because parents or caregivers can not afford the school uniform, books, food, and required fees.

Label printing that makes a difference - an ingenious idea that not only inspires the children of Uganda
Not only the tinkering of the game tokens and the completion of the games gave the school children from Sprendlingen much joy, also the goal to collect as much money as possible for the donation was an incentive for all. The great support will be used to finance school uniforms, textbooks, school materials and lunch at school for Ugandan children. In addition, the families of the children are supported in an emergency.
Regularly, at least once a year, the sponsored children are visited, the projects are inspected on site and the use of funds is planned for further necessary assistance.
We congratulate the students of class 4a on this wonderful idea and the successful fundraising.
