🆕 DTM Trays are now even easier to use

A new upgrade is available for the two basic Eddie trays (DTM Manual Tray M0001 and DTM Carousel Tray CT0000).

These trays now have a certified food grade silicone layer to provide a better grip on the surface for smaller objects and prevent them from moving during printing. The silicone pads are semi-transparent, allowing the engraved positioning grid to be seen through or a printed guide to be placed under the layer.

🌱 Produce more sustainable packaging with DTM EcoTec materials

When it comes to sustainability, you might ask: is plastic better than paper or vice versa? There is no general answer to this question.

When it comes to recycling, the recycling process needs to be looked at more closely. For example, a paper label on plastic packaging means that the two materials can't be properly and automatically separated in the recycling process. This would have to be done manually by the consumer when separating waste at home. If the material is not separated beforehand, the only way to recycle it is thermally, i.e. by incineration.

The solution is mono-packaging: When the same materials are used for packaging, such as a PET label on a PET bottle with a PET cap or a paper label on a cardboard box, this so-called mono-packaging can be recycled as a whole without the consumer having to manually separate the different materials. In addition, the sustainability of a packaging can be increased by using environmentally friendly labels.
